Vertical water storage tanks with capacities of 13,000 and 2,000 m³ for a greenhouse in Texas
In the vast landscape of Texas, United States, Grovo Tuinbouw and SJR Greenhouse Tanks have jointly constructed two vertical water storage tanks for a greenhouse’s climate control system.
The first tank, with an impressive capacity of 13,000 cubic meters, is designed to store cold water and serves as a cold buffer. The excess cold generated by the heat pump in the evening and at night is stored in the tank and reused during the day, at peak hours. This allows the heat pump itself to be designed on a smaller scale.
The second tank has a capacity of 2,000 cubic meters and is used to store hot water. This tank plays an important role in the greenhouse’s heating system: heat generated earlier is stored for later use, allowing the heating system to operate more efficiently.
Together, the two tanks ensure that the greenhouse remains at the right temperature year-round while using less energy.
