Four underground fuel tanks for the new Shell Truckstop in Ghent

CTC Tankbouw, commissioned by Stadsbader, supplied four double-walled underground fuel storage tanks for the new Shell Truckstop in Ghent. The Belgian company Stadsbader operates as a registered contractor with a solid reputation in the field of public works and industrial projects.

Three storage tanks have a capacity of 120,000 liters and a diameter of 3,000 mm. The fourth is a 20,000-liter AdBlue storage tank. Together, they provide a busy truck stop with sufficient supplies of fuel and AdBlue, ensuring short refueling times and fewer restocking stops.

The tanks are double-walled, so that any leakage into the space between the walls is detected before anything reaches the ground. They are made of S235JR steel and coated on the outside with a single layer of PU Endoprene 868.06, with a minimum layer thickness of 1,000 µm: a thick, durable polyurethane layer that protects the underground tank against corrosion for decades. The tanks are supplied in compliance with the Flemish environmental regulations Vlarem II.

We would like to thank Stadsbader for their trust in CTC Tankbouw.
