Super Duplex Degassers for Geothermal Energy in Greenhouse Horticulture

Degassers are high-quality devices that are indispensable in geothermal projects: they remove gas from the geothermal water extracted from the wells. In this project, geothermal energy is used to heat greenhouses.

The degassing tanks are made of Super Duplex, a special type of stainless steel known for its high strength and corrosion resistance. This makes it ideally suited for applications involving harsh environments or chemicals, such as the mineral-rich water from a geothermal source.

The degassers have a design pressure of 16 bar and are supplied as pressure vessels in accordance with the European PED Directive 2014/68/EU. With a capacity of 52,000 liters and a diameter of 2,400 mm, they provide the water with sufficient residence time to efficiently separate the dissolved gases before the water transfers its heat to the greenhouse.
